A very large tree of this rare 1870's cultivated hybrid. The tree is associated with the 1850 McRae homestead 'Bonovoree', now the location of Salisbury School for Girls. (Gunton, J., 2008).

NZ nation champion and largest recorded Lavalle’s Hawthorn in the world (NZNTT, 2012).
