A mature pine nut tree growing immediately beside another specimen of the same species. Local knowledge and site history suggest these trees may have been planted by Orton Bradley himself, making them of potential historical significance to the park and wider Canterbury region.
The tree is a prolific producer, with large numbers of cones and edible nuts present on the ground beneath the canopy. This strong fruiting habit indicates good vigour and adds to the tree’s ecological and heritage value. Both trees have similar large wounds at the base of the trunk. |
