Site of the former Godley Hotel, which was lost in the 2011 Canterbury earthquake. Godley House, built in 1880, originally served as the grand family home of Harvey Hawkins, a prominent Lyttelton resident. The surviving Norfolk Island pine is unlikely to date from that period and is more probably a later planting (Hammer, J.R., 2025).
