The larger of the two specimens planted directly next to each other. The tree is referenced in the S.W Burstall and E.V Sale 'Great Trees of New Zealand' 1984 book as "The only tree of this species recorded in New Zealand". Common street tree in modern times, these specimens could be the largest and oldest in the country (Evans, B, 2025).
