Tree Information x

Identifier: CR/2019
Tree Type: Single
Registered By: Lloyd, M.
Registration Category: Notable tree – National interest
General Notes:
This California incense cedar is one of the large trees to the east of the Cheviot cricket ground in Cheviot Hills Reserve. Given its size, it was probably planted during the time the Hon. William Robinson owned the Cheviot Hills Estate (see CR/G2018 for details), and is quite close to the site of the original Cheviot Hill Homestead. As the photos show it is a very large tree, with large lateral branches at its base. It is in very good health and makes an interesting specimen beside the giant redwoods, deodar cedars, Monterey pine, and Ponderosa pine that follow on from the immediate north of this single specimen (Lloyd, M., 2024).
