Large pōhutukawa tree in Martins Bay Reserve past Snells Beach. Tree is a large specimen in excellent condition. According to people at the camp site, who know the history of the area, estimate it to be 300 years old. I can’t find any notable status on it. I have often done routine checks on the trees here and around the Auckland Region and consider this one to stand out. I believe it has the heritage and size to be recognised as notable (Veenstra, J., 2022).
